2008 APS XAFS School
Dates: August 5—8
The APS XAFS School instructed students about XAFS and how to incorporate XAFS into their own research program. The curriculum was aimed at the novice to intermediate level XAFS practitioner and covered all aspects of XAFS. Lectures for this years school focused on basic theory and processing and analysis of XAFS data. Significant time was spent on hands-on instruction in data processing and data analysis using Feff, Ifeffit and Athena & Artemis. The 2008 program did not include hands-on experiments at APS spectroscopy beamlines. Experimental practice will likely be included in the next course.
